Web3 Cyber Threat Analyst

The Cyber Threat Analyst is responsible for conducting cyber threat intelligence analysis in alignment with Chainlink Labs’s vision and objectives. The Analyst will play an essential role in defending the firm against sophisticated cyber threats, investigating advanced threat actors, conducting proactive research on emerging threats, and generating assessments to aid decision-making.

Your Impact

• Conducting sound analysis to develop forward-looking assessments of the cyber threat landscape
• Maintaining a working knowledge of adversarial tactics and techniques, and how they are being used to achieve current objectives
• Contributing to and delivering written and verbal briefings for stakeholders
• Analyzing emerging cyber events and assessing their relevance to SmartContract, Chainlink, and the wider blockchain and crypto sectors
• Collaborating with and supporting the investigations of other Cybersecurity Operations and Information Security teams
• Conducting deep-dive intelligence analysis and investigations related to suspicious activity and attempted attacks
• Working with insider threat investigations teams to identify and mitigate internal threats to the business;
• Supporting protective intelligence efforts through monitoring, detection, and analysis of potential threats to corporate leadership
• Providing recommendations for appropriate and effective responses to discovered cyber threats and related security issues within the business. 

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Applied Math, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent of the same in work experience is also acceptable for the position
• At least two years of experience in cyber threat analysis or threat investigations
• Demonstrated a high-level understanding of recent cyber trends, campaigns, incidents, and threat actor groups
• Demonstrated an understanding of the impact of geopolitical dynamics on the cyber threat landscape
• Have a working knowledge of common cyber threat analysis frameworks
• Familiarity with cyber analysis tools
• Good understanding of networking in the context of cyber threat analysis
• Prior experience using automated malware sandboxes, as well as interpreting their results to drive detection opportunities
• A broad understanding of risks to cryptocurrencies and the wider blockchain ecosystem
• Open-source intelligence skills; ideally in the crypto or financial sectors. Preference will be given to candidates with specialized training or skills in one or more of the following: Open Source information gathering and/or analysis; Social Media information gathering and/or analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excel in a fast-paced and demanding start-up environment
• Proficiency in the use of data visualization tools, which will be necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations
• Excellent overall computer skills, including the use of command line tools. 
• Passionate and skilled in cyber threat analysis. Skilled in transforming research into easily understandable analysis to support security operations and decision-making
• Experience with data-driven analysis on large data sets using open-source and commercial tools
• Basic understanding of structured analytic techniques to help mitigate bias in analysis
• Detail-oriented, comfortable working in a collaborative setting, self-motivated, proactive, a creative strategic and independent thinker, have problem-solving skills, have a positive can-do attitude, and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress

This role is location agnostic anywhere in the world, but we ask that you overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
