The Starknet Foundation supports the development of Starknet, a state-of-the-art layer 2 blockchain network built on top of Ethereum. Our mission is to unlock Ethereum’s scalability and efficiency, making decentralized applications more accessible and effective. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Lead to spearhead our compliance efforts. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations, fostering a culture of compliance, and supporting sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal.
We are looking for a Financial Controller with experience in managing the financial aspects of a parent company along with its operating subsidiaries. An interest in blockchain, web3, digital assets and financial technology is a plus. Excellent opportunity to be part of changing the traditional finance landscape.
How you can make an impact:
• Managing accounting for the Foundation, as well as various subsidiaries and related entities, in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere (AP, AR, bank rec, month end close with the support of one remote Accountant).
• Coordination and oversight of the consolidation and Group reporting deliverables.
• Production of Group KPIs, dashboards and board packs.
• Overseeing Group direct and indirect tax, transfer pricing, and inter-group service agreements.
• Establishing and supporting best-practice cryptographic asset accounting and record-keeping across the Group in liaison with the Commercial Finance Manager.
• Coordination and support of Group external audits.
• Holding directorship of wholly owned Cayman Island subsidiary.
• Assisting the Head of Finance with various Finance activities.
• Supporting leadership with innovation on new economic models.
Who You Are:
• ACA, CPA or equivalent accounting professional qualification with IFRS and at least 5+ years' experience.
• A company secretarial qualification would be advantageous.
• Technically strong understanding in terms of controls and corporate governance, corporate and indirect tax, corporate structures and transfer pricing.
• Previous experience of working in either blockchain, web3, fintech or financial services.
• Based in the Cayman Islands.
