To bring this vision to life, we are seeking a Founding Engineer — a brilliant technical mind and architect who will lead the design and development of Bond’s decentralized infrastructure, privacy-first social networking platform, and tokenized ecosystem.

The Role

As Founding Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of Bond, shaping the architecture, infrastructure, and core systems that power the platform. You will work closely with the CEO and founding team to make key technical decisions, lead early development, and ultimately build a world-class engineering team.

This is a high-impact role where you will define Bond’s technology stack, security model, decentralization strategy, and token integration, helping to launch a platform that prioritizes privacy, community governance, and user-owned social networking.

What You’ll Do

System Architecture & Development

• Architect and build the Bond decentralized social protocol, including identity, data storage, and social graph infrastructure.
• Develop scalable backend systems that support decentralized identity (DID), data federation, and social interactions.
• Lead smart contract development for $BOND security tokens and $BOND utility tokens, ensuring compliance and integration into Bond’s ecosystem.
• Design privacy-first features, including end-to-end encryption, decentralized authentication, and zero-knowledge proof implementations.

Tokenization & Decentralization

• Implement staking mechanisms, premium feature access, and governance functionality using security and utility tokens.
• Build decentralized storage solutions (IPFS, Ceramic, Arweave) to allow users to own and control their data.
• Utilize AT Protocol or similar frameworks for federated identity and social graph decentralization.

Leadership & Growth

• Hire and lead an elite engineering team, defining best practices for development, security, and decentralization.
• Work directly with the CEO and product team to translate Bond’s vision into an elegant, scalable, and privacy-focused architecture.
• Establish a progressive decentralization roadmap, balancing user experience with fully decentralized infrastructure over time.

Who You Are

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Deep expertise in decentralized technologies, including blockchain, distributed storage, and decentralized identity (DID).
• Strong full-stack engineering skills, with proficiency in Go, Rust, TypeScript (Node.js/Deno), Solidity, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience designing and deploying smart contracts (Ethereum, Solana, or Layer 2 solutions).
• Familiarity with federated social protocols like ActivityPub, AT Protocol, or Matrix.
• Experience building scalable backend architectures and working with decentralized storage solutions (IPFS, Arweave, Ceramic, Filecoin).
• Passion for privacy-first, user-owned social networking and experience implementing end-to-end encryption, zero-knowledge proofs, or cryptographic authentication.

Bonus Skills

• Prior experience building and launching Web3 products, dApps, or decentralized social platforms.
• Understanding of security token offerings (STOs), KYC/AML compliance, and regulated token design.
• Experience with privacy-preserving AI models and on-device processing for decentralized applications.
• Prior experience leading an engineering team or contributing to open-source decentralized projects.
