Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a software engineering team at scale
- Grow the engineering team, fast but sustainably from the ground up. Attracting talent will remain a constant in this role
- Maintain a culture of creativity and empowerment with the engineering team
- Ensure the guardrails that allow the team to move fast with high quality
- Develop standards and procedures to ensure that quality is consistently high
- Work closely with our global executive team, product teams, and other engineering teams to plan and execute the delivery of our strategic product roadmap
- 10+ year’s experience leading software engineering teams
- Experience working in globally distributed teams
- Highly structured and strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to attract, hire and retain world-class engineering talent
- Ability to empower and develop people (managers, team leaders, and engineers)
- Successfully led a team of 30+ engineers and understands scaling challenges
- Seeking to continuously improve the service and technology stack
- High energy, driven, ambitious
- Enthusiasm for the mission, company, and technology. Be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices
- Exceptionally good written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to provide clarity to all level engineering personnel to ensure that the team you lead understand current priorities and roadmaps, as well as with management to articulate concepts and progress of delivery of strategic roadmaps
- Humble, willing to both give and take direction
