Proof of work
The team
Kraken is seeking a Treasury Capital Product Engineer to architect and build the firm’s interactive Capital Management Product — a web-based, real-time system for visualizing and managing liquidity, capital, and funding risk.
This is a hybrid engineering and product-design role that converts complex Treasury analytics into clear, usable tools for senior management.
Working closely with quantitative risk managers and data teams, you will design REST APIs, data schemas, and user interfaces that transform internal data into scenario inputs and risk outputs, enabling transparent, data-driven decision-making.
Your work will ensure that liquidity and capital analytics are not hidden in spreadsheets or models — but surfaced as live, interactive insights.
The opportunity
Lead design and development of Kraken’s web-based Capital Management Product — including UI/UX, backend, and API architecture
Develop RESTful APIs and data connectors to integrate internal and external data sources (banking, wallet, exchange, and market feeds) into the Treasury risk environment
Translate quantitative models into scalable, interactive web applications, allowing users to view, test, and act on liquidity and capital stress scenarios in real time
Implement front-end interfaces using Django and React, with visualizations for liquidity ladders, funding gaps, and capital utilization metrics
Design and automate daily and intraday data workflows, ensuring timely updates, data validation, and exception alerting
Collaborate with Quantitative Risk Managers to integrate simulation outputs into usable business dashboards
Optimize for performance, security, and scalability across multiple data environments, balancing speed and reliability
Maintain documentation, testing, and Treasury data pipelines to ensure robust production deployment
Add interactive data visualization and risk management alerting features using intraday data sets to help better risk manage the firm
Skills you should HODL
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5–8 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, Risk Systems Developer, or Treasury Platform Engineer in a financial or crypto-native organization
Strong proficiency in Python, Django, React, SQL, REST API design, and cloud deployment (AWS or GCP)
Experience working with time-series or financial data, integrating data from multiple heterogeneous systems
Familiarity with risk or treasury risk analytics — able to translate quantitative model requirements into data pipelines and user interfaces
Strong sense of ownership, product design intuition, and attention to UX for non-technical stakeholders
