Compensation: $90k - $130k

A quick run-down of the job
We are looking for a senior DevOps engineer with extensive experience in platform engineering who will help to bring our infrastructure to the next level. You will be part of a highly experienced DevOps team, reporting to the DevOps Lead, responsible for all infrastructure, CI/CD, DevEx, automation, resilience, high availability and o11y. You will work closely with our development teams to build critical features, design new solutions and support the route to live of multiple applications.
Please note: This role requires you to be located in EMEA. Your application will not be considered otherwise.
What you'll do
Design and implement new infrastructure, tooling and features, to industry best practices
Propose new solutions and improvements to existing technology, process and codebase, with associated costs and benefits
Develop our o11y to match industry best standards
Implement new processes and workflows for alerting
Gather requirements from developers and distill them into actions
Guide developers to use DevOps and SRE best practices and support them with their route to live
Develop and maintain a superb DevEx for our application teams
Optimise our in-house tooling and automation
Anticipate issues in our lower environment and take proactive steps to prevent production incidents
Deliver new features for developers

Our tech stack includes:
Github for git and Github Actions for CI/CD
MongoDB Atlas and Elasticache/Redis for our data
CloudFlare for our CDN related
AWS for the majority of our infra, with a subset on GCP
Terraform wrapped by Terrgrunt for infrastructure as code
EKS for the majority of our compute, with a subset on GKE
ArgoCD for our application deployments
kube-prometheus-stack for monitoring
Hashicorp Vault for secrets management
What makes a good candidate
Expert knowledge and production experience with kubernetes
Extensive experience with terraform/opentofu and ideally terragrunt across large codebases, with multiple providers
Good linux fundamentals
Strong bash scripting skills
Solid scripting or programming in at least one language (Python, Go etc)
Use and administration of ideally ArgoCD or other GitOps tools, at scale
Highly proficient with AWS. Extensive experience with GCP is nice to have
Good understanding of containerisation i.e. Docker, containerd
Monitoring and Observability as second nature. Ideally experience with Prometheus, Grafana and OTEL
Security first mindset
Experience with FinOps
Proven track record of designing and managing complex CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills
Proactivity, strong ability to work well within a team and across teams
Technical independence and proven record of delivering complex initiatives
Interest in the blockchain space, a solid and deeper (technical) understanding is a plus
Any relevant certifications a nice to have e.g. from AWS/Google or CKA etc
Able to overlap the team core work hours (EMEA timezones)
