Web3 Lead/Senior Technical Artist

About the role

Palm NFT Studio is seeking a Senior Technical artist to help define new industry standards in the quickly evolving world Blockchain-powered entertainment space for several world renowned franchises. You’d be an integral part of a tight-knit creative team for an eco-friendly crypto studio making environmentally conscious NFTs. The pipeline you join will primarily focus on 3D props and rigged character assets.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with each artistic department and web3 engineering departments to solve challenging technical issues for the maintenance and improvement of the workflows and technologies in a 3D asset pipeline.
• Identify, plan, and develop new pipeline tools that aim to increase efficiency; and work closely with artists to ensure all assets work within the technical pipeline’s requirements.
• Prototype new art assets for prospective clients and explore various approaches for executing these assets.

Required skills

• 5+ years of experience in animation, games, VR, or relevant industry
• Extensive experience with real-time lighting workflows and game engine scripting
• Experience in a 3D digital art pipeline (high and low poly modeling, UV unwrapping, baking, texturing, material development)
• Strong understanding of modeling, shaders, textures, and lighting in games
• Strong scripting skills (C#, Python, or equivalent)
• Expertise with current and next-gen art techniques and art principles
• Extensive experience with industry-standard tools and procedural content creation software (Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Substance suite, Houdini, or equivalent)
• Proficient at working in a fully remote environment
• Self-motivated, collaborative, organized, good communicator

Bonus Points

• Enthusiasm for NFTs and crypto is a plus
• Experience working at a startup as well as a big corporate environment
• Having worked in a remote environment
