You’ll Be Responsible for...
Designing and implementing our Multiplayer system.
You’re a Good Fit if...
You are/have:
- Expert in frontend and backend Javascript/Typescript (Node.js)
- Expert in Javscript networking apis (HTTPS, WebSockets, WebRTC) and stream processing
- Strong server-side debugging ability (debuggers, network tools, DNS, routing, load balancing, performance tracing, event logging)
- Experience with soft realtime binary messaging in a game engine (events, pub-sub, audio streams, CRDTs, synchronization algorithms, eventual consistency, persistence layer)
- Understanding of interpolation algorithms and lag compensation
- Experience binding network data to Entity-Component systems
- Experience managing complex asynchronous multiplayer state (objects, avatars, ownership transfer, conflict resolution, timeouts, dynamic resource loading and unloading)
- Ability to write and debug efficient binary protocols (data size and processing time)
- Strong understanding of game engine update loops and state machine management
- Ability to design abstracted, loosely coupled systems across data storage, networking, game engine, and rendering layers in a game engine
- Performance profiling experience in the browser
- Worked with signal processing (WebAudio, Processing graphs, Audio worklets)
- Spatial math ability (matrices, vectors, quaternions, trigonomery, and reference frames)
- Simulate and test network interactions in a continuous integration environment
