Magic Eden is hiring a Web3 Senior Counsel, iGaming & Sportsbook
Compensation: $36k - $93k estimated
Location: Victoria Melbourne Australia
At Magic Eden, we’re building the future of crypto entertainment. We began our Web3 journey as the NFT marketplace - but that was only the start. Today, we create immersive, social, onchain experiences that bring together culture, trading, gaming, and entertainment. Our goal is bold and simple: make crypto accessible, exciting, and unforgettable for the next generation of users. Backed by top-tier investors including Electric Capital, Lightspeed Ventures and Paradigm, we’re a global team of passionate, scrappy, and wildly talented people who don’t believe in limits. If you’re ready to take on big challenges, own your impact, and help shape the next era of Web3, you’re in the right place.
The Story
Magic Eden became one of the fastest companies in history to reach unicorn status, hitting the mark just 9 months after launch. When we entered NFTs, we didn't just join the market, we redefined it by being faster, sharper operators than the legacy players. We did it on Solana, we did it on Bitcoin, and now we are doing it for iGaming.
Dicey is our next frontier. We are leveraging blockchain as a payment rail to build a high-performance, real-time sports betting and casino platform. We aren't just building another operator; we’re rewriting the rules of the game.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Legal & Regulatory Strategist who thinks like a builder. This isn't a traditional 9-to-5 "compliance check" role. You will be a core thought partner to our Product, Engineering, and GTM teams, helping us navigate the complex intersection of global wagering, crypto-native assets, and hyper-growth.
If you have lived and breathed the iGaming world and are tired of being told "no" by traditional corporate structures, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Actually Do
Architect the Playbook: You won't just follow rules; you'll help design the regulatory frameworks for a new paradigm in Web3 wagering.
Partner with Product: Sit in the room with engineers and product leads to build features that are "compliant by design."
Navigating the Global Map: Help us solve the puzzle of global expansion, identifying where to move, how to launch, and how to win.
Risk Assessments: Conduct candid risk assessments that enable the business to move boldly forward. You are here to find the "how," not just the "why not."
Build the Network: Influence our strategy by building a global web of mission-aligned outside counsel.
Who You Are
You know the Industry: You have deep roots in the iGaming, Casino, or Sportsbook world. You understand how the "legacy giants" work, but you’re ready to build something faster.
You are a Lawyer by Training, an Operator by Choice: You have a law degree and operate on strong legal foundations, but you’re drawn to cross-functional work, embedded with product, engineering and business teams to solve problems in real time
You Thrive in Ambiguity: You don't need a manual. You are comfortable building processes from scratch and making decisions with 70% of the information.
You’re a "Wartime" Partner: You have a high motor, you’re commercially savvy, and you thrive in environments where speed is a competitive advantage.
Why This Matters
Magic Eden is well-funded with a strong financial runway and a proven track record of toppling legacy players. This is a rare chance to join a "Day 1" project at the intersection of law, product, and business. You’ll be part of a select group shaping the future of crypto-native gaming before the hyper-growth phase begins.
