Saidler & Co. is hiring a Senior Crypto Researcher / Portfolio Manager. It is a remote position but we are looking for candidates who live in New York. We’ll be accepting applications for this position until November 6th.

At Saidler & Co., we live and breath fundamental analysis through intellectual curiosity, in-depth research and a sharp mind. Our research is the very basis of every decision we make in our group of companies, in particular how we manage our investment portfolios.

Along with excellent analytical abilities and impeccable English communication skills, you must be able break down complex topics through your written analysis and distill a clear investment recommendation from vast amounts of data.

We believe the best research - and thus investment management approach - comes from someone who can connect the dots across several disciplines (marco economics, finance, geopolitics, regulation and technology) and is not afraid to speak his mind, and conclude - if necessary - with a contrarian opinion. We analyze from the macro perspective first and drill down from there into the individual topics from the technological properties of an alternative Layer-1 network to on-chain metrics to predict short-, mid- or long-term price movements of Bitcoin.

The core of your day-to-day job will be to make deep dives into a range of important and relevant research topics, write short and - sometimes - long reports on them and distill the core insights into a clear investment recommendation. Based on the firm’s advanced research - including yours - you will manage a diversified portfolio of liquid blockchain assets chosen on the fundamental and technical promise of the underlying projects and protocols with a mid- to long-term investment horizon. The aim of our portfolio is to generate exceptional venture-like returns while maintaining liquidity.

Due to the nature of your work, excellent research capabilities and a proven track record in the financial services industry managing third-party capital is a must.

Saidler & Co. pays in the top 10% of the industry based on Switzerland rates. Same position, same pay, no matter where you live. The compensation can be negotiated individually.

We are an organization that strongly believes in fostering talents and providing them with the freedom to excel in a manner that they see fit. There are no fixed working hours. There are no daily required meetings or lengthy Zoom video calls. You will take full responsibility to manage your own time and structure your own work the way you see fit. We however require that you will remain available for at least two hours during CET business hours for potential coordination purposes.

All we ask is a reasonable 8-hour day and 40-hour work week, and we'll stay out of your way so you can do the best work of your career. Twice a year, you will be invited to join our research event in Switzerland, to meet the rest of the team in person. As a matter of course, the costs will be covered by the company.

What happens after you apply?

The chosen candidates will receive a short, at-home research challenge. The exercise is representative of the kind of work we do, and it helps us understand how you’d approach new problems from scratch.

The final candidates will be invited to 2-3 interviews, all one hour, all remote, with your future colleagues, on your schedule. We’ll talk through your background, your approach to research, your at-home research challenge and dive into your professional knowledge. No surprises. We hope to make an offer sometime in August, with a flexible start date.
