THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will work in close collaboration with the Corporate Accountant and the Finance team. You will assist with various accounting and finance deliverables over time and work in unison with several business departments on a weekly basis. You enjoy problem solving to understand large financial and data sets, a master of cash reconciliations, and are eager to develop further to execute a wide array of financial deliverables while working in a fast paced environment.

This position is remote during the pandemic and will be based out of our head office in Toronto, Ontario.

YOUR IMPACT

• Perform daily 3-way cash reconciliations for a high volume crypto ATM business
• Use systems, tools and processes to provide structured, routine reports on aging cash and receivables turnover for a large ATM kiosk network
• Identify and follow up on all outstanding data, reporting and cash issues with CIT servicing partners and the Finance team
• Effectively resolve CIT bottlenecks with the assistance of the Financial Controller
• Communicate with Cash-in-Transit (CIT) servicing partners daily, reporting and addressing outstanding cash, and ensuring the timely receipt of cash
• Prepare schedules, working papers, supporting documents, and analysis for cash reviews and audits, bookkeeping, operational finance, and other projects
• Comply with all government, licensing and tax requirements
• Be a key contributor for internal and external audit engagements
• Other analysis and ad-hoc work as requested by Localcoin

THIS IS YOU

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an entry level accountant role
• 2 years of experience executing high volume cash and bank reconciliations, and assisting with supporting documents and schedules for journal entries and financial deliverables
• Accounting experience with Canadian or U.S. based companies
• High degree of professionalism, active listening, and proactive account monitoring
• Ability to use analytical thinking to solve problems
• Maintain a close liaison and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to execute on multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
• High aptitude in learning, using and auditing new technologies (systems & tools)
• High proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite, Advanced in Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Formula Audit and Fixing Errors)

THIS IS NICE

• Accounting experience in FinTech or cryptocurrency industries
• Enrolled in the CPA program
