Web3 VP, Design

We are looking for a world-class VP Design to help Mythical define the future of blockchain-enabled games. As we build out the future of gaming and player ownership, we are looking for a seasoned leader who is passionate about building something revolutionary. This person is someone who can get into the details as needed and lead from the front. This role reports directly to the EVP of Studios.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, strategize, organize and own the design and economy for all Mythical Games including both internal and external games.
• Manage internal systems design and econ teams to inspire and motivate them to achieve their best work and ensure designs meet the established business objectives.
• Accountable for all economy models and simulations optimizing for both revenue and retention across our games.
• Apply industry leading design techniques and pioneer new best practices in systems and game economy design, NFT strategy, and p2e gaming.
• Review all design documentation for our games, and economy models to ensure alignment & consistency with design strategy.
• Work closely with design and product teams to identify and create KPI's to measure and track game, systems, and econ performance across existing and future games.
• Accountable for the overarching design philosophy and economy principles of our games, with a focus on player retention, revenue, engagement and overall game economy health.
• Work with production to ensure design and econ and accompanying documentation is well understood by artists, engineers and QA.
• Understand and be on top of the latest blockchain and free-to-play design models and implement the relevant best practices into the economy of our games.
• Work with executive leadership on design review meetings and gate meetings.
• Contribute to the slate strategy, roadmaps and systems / econ designs companywide.
• Leverage consumer insights, user analytics, community, and analysis to monitor game performance and overall econ health of our games and ensure systems and econ designs meet the business objectives and KPI's.
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a VP managing and running high functioning design organizations or games.
• Experience operating or leading a top 20+ grossing or monetizing game.
• Thorough understanding of web3, blockchain, defi, gamefi and crypto technologies.
  
  

The expected base salary range for this role is based on the location where the employee's work will be performed and is aligned to one of our three compensation pay range tiers. Base pay is just one part of Mythical's total compensation package, which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their efforts and contributions. This role is also eligible to participate in Mythical's Corporate Bonus and Equity Plan.

US Tier 1: $238,000 - $328,000

US Tier 2: $214,000 - $295,000

US Tier 3: $190,000 - $262,000

Locations by Tier:

Tier 1 Locations: San Francisco Bay Area - California

Tier 2 Locations: Remainder of California (outside of the SF Bay Area), Washington state, Massachusetts state, New York state

Tier 3 Locations: All other states outside of California, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York.

The base salary for each successful applicant will be dependent on a variety of factors, including work location, education, qualifications, competencies, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
