Job Overview

We are seeking a contract business development lead strategically located and covering Los Angeles, CA. You will be responsible for championing the Tezos blockchain and creating an environment that promotes and encourages its use and adoption. To succeed in this role it will be key to build relationships across professional services providers (consultants, lawyers, development houses, global brands and integrators), the funding ecosystem (VCs, family offices, angel investors), the entrepreneurial ecosystem (incubators, accelerators, start-ups) and corporate brands.

This role is focused on strategic, long term business development. You will work on creating and delivering strategic projects involving your ecosystem participants. These will range from direct sponsorships/partnerships to providing introductions and playing more of a consultative role between participants, to encourage them to build on the Tezos platform. Ultimately, you will own the development and execution of our BD strategy for the West Coast region.

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with extensive business development experience and an interest in the blockchain and Web3 space. Professional experience in blockchain is not necessary - this can be taught - however we are looking for someone a clear passion and desire to work more deeply with the technology. In this role you will be working directly with global teams based in Europe, UK and other areas, to further and advance business development discussions and help secure opportunities. In this capacity, the role requires regular and direct interaction with a team based in the UK that supports global business development activities in order to ensure alignment and in-sync execution.

*This is a 1 year contract position*

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in Business Development roles
  • An interest and curiosity in blockchain technology, Web3 and other emerging technologies
  • Ability to work in a consultative manner with ecosystem participants
  • Ability to develop and maintain executive level relationships
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English language skills with strong communication, presentation and business writing skills
  • Open to a contractor position

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience at a fast growth technology company
  • Experience in a Startup Environment
  • Experience in B2B2C or B2C business development
  • You are self-motivated, possess a positive team-player attitude and are passionate about building long term relationships with stakeholders, teams and brands.
  • You should be able to handle multiple projects and thrive in a very dynamic startup environment.
  • You should have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communications skills and detailed project management skills.
  • You are a self-starter who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities.
  • You are able work well under pressure, with proven experience working on complex, international, large-scale, time-critical projects.
  • You have demonstrated experience advocating for projects and influencing teams beyond your control.
  • Knowledge, passion and experience within the blockchain / crypto space highly desired.
