We are hiring a Product Lead to oversee all product lines and drive the vision for the end-to-end Optimism experience. This person will oversee a team that touches all product lines—the developer focused product of tooling and documentation, the end-user focused product (the Optimism Gateway and website), and the governance front-end.
What are the role responsibilities?
- Oversee the team responsible for all product lines—the developer focused product of tooling and documentation, the end-user focused product (the Optimism Gateway and website), and the governance front-end.
- Collaborate with other leaders (Engineering, Marketing, etc.) at Optimism to help determine the product strategy and roadmap
- Hire, train, motivate and mentor product managers—clearly define individual roles and responsibilities for your team and allocate resources
- Manage the progress of the product team as well as overall team health
- Define the product roadmap delivering the Developer & End-User experience
- Deep focus on data to draw insights and identify gaps in developer & end-user experience, drive developer adoption, and drive end-user engagement
- Articulate developer personas and speak with developers to define what problems we need to solve
- Work full features, releases and product improvements from start to finish with engineering and design
- Clearly articulate user need to engineering team
- Collaborate with Product Designer to define and build an elegant user experience
- Develop standards, specifications, and reference implementations of tools for partners to drive adoption and usage
- Brainstorm, test, and iterate to help drive decision making
- Identify product marketing opportunities & approaches
- Develop deep understanding of rapidly evolving competitive landscape to position Optimism for success
What skills do you bring?
- 5+ years of professional experience in product management and 2+ years managing product teams
- Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple complex projects in parallel
- A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent skills
- A passion for working on a community based product and finding simplicity in solutions
- A data-driven approach, understanding of MVP and good judgment on when to ship
- Experience with open source software, crypto/web3 or developer focused products preferred but not required
