Position Overview:

SIMBA Chain is looking for experienced DevOps engineers with a passion for blockchain technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, Kubernetes, and cloud (Azure and AWS). Alignment with DevOps as a tech cultural philosophy and understanding of contemporary DevOps practices and tools will be essential to success in this role. This role is an opportunity to learn and grow, as part of a talented team, with plenty of challenges in a rapidly developing technology. You will collaborate with engineers and product owners and play a key role in building the foundation for our entire platform.

The SIMBA Chain team is spread across the globe and spans several time zones, with remote work and flexible working hours as a standard practice. Occasional travel for meet ups and team building purposes would be desirable.

A strong predictor for successwill be evident in a candidate who is accustomed to leading the charge, from assessing client’s needs to support deal closing to basic technical integrations. This individual thrives within a performance culture, is highly personable and an excellent communicator who can provide applicable recommendations by assessing potential clients’ needs.

What you’ll be doing at SIMBA:

• Supporting the delivery of consistent DevOps best practices across the organization.
• Automate and measure everything
• Develop and manage software and automation solutions to help increase the velocity of the development teams
• Providing "self-service" tooling for software development and IT operations.
• Accelerate software delivery and quality through guidance and implementation of DevOps patterns.
• Evangelize DevOps principles.
• Occasionally embed with software development or IT operations.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Understanding of blockchain, smart contracts, and dApps
• Familiarity of smart contract programming languages such as Solidity or Vyper
• Understand the DevOps basics: The Three Ways, Observability, DevOps oriented metrics
• Experience with AWS services
• Experience in Containerization of application (Docker) and deployment in Kubernetes
• System thinking
• Cloud-native application architecture and patterns
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of cloud with a focus on Azure and AWS
• Strong working knowledge of Bash, Python, and/or Golang
• Experience with git on GitLab or GitHub
• Experience developing Helm charts
• Experience developing Kubernetes operators
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Experience with GitOps using Flux or ArgoCD
• Experience on the Phoenix project is strongly preferred
