About the Role:

The blockchain security team is building a product using confidential computing technology. The product is one of the key strategic projects for the company. We are seeking researchers who enjoy and believe in confidential computing as a future. The researcher will analyze the threat of confidential computing, breaking it and proposing a more secure design or implementation. This role requires the candidate to be able to research and be hands-on to do Proof of Concept.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify areas of security weakness and find ways to minimize security risks for the various confidential computing (Intel SGX, AMD SEV, ARM TrustZone, etc) using hardware and software techniques.
  • Conduct tests and experiments to break products implemented on the various confidential computing technologies.
  • Be a subject matter of confidential computing for the engineering team helping to design and implement a more secure product.
  • Design and build Proof of Concept on various confidential computing.
  • Document analysis, security weakness and security mitigation of confidential computing for internal and public sharing.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree (or Bachelor's degree with 3~5+ years of experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant majors.
  • Experience in systems programming in Rust ideally (C or C++ is acceptable too)
  • Experience with Confidential Computing (Intel SGX, AMD SEV, ARM TrustZone)
  • Good understanding of hardware architecture and design of secure server systems including Secure Boot, Trusted Boot, TPM, ARM TrustZone.
  • Willingness to dig into low-level architectural details
  • Having knowledge about other security by hardware design systems like TPMs and related technologies can be a plus
  • Knowledgeable in threat modeling and other risk assessment
  • Hands on experience in solving security issues that span software and hardware
  • Curious and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to own and drive initiative and works
