Web3 Business Intelligence Analyst - Canada Wide - Remote

Newton team members are spread out across Canada within a fully-remote capacity.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering daily, weekly, and monthly financial analytics to various stakeholders
• Providing business intelligence and recommendations to stakeholders using inquiry, data and reporting
• Work with the operations team to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and on-going variance analysis to various business unit managers
• Prepare ad-hoc financial and operational analysis as requested
• Aid the broader finance and operations teams on special initiatives (e.g., systems implementation) and provide support on funds reconciliation, cash processing, and inventory management as needed
• Act as payroll backup
• Day to day accounting entries and reviewing of entries
• Assisting in financial statement and tax reviews and audits
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Execute month-end activities for closing the accounting periods in a timely manner
• Review business transactions to identify relevant accounting/reporting issues and potential cost-saving opportunities
• Vendor Contract Management
• Identify, analyze, and interpret data trends and patterns
• Prepare reports for management and investors highlighting business performance and trends
• Support decision-making in business operations through data analysis

Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in operations, financial reporting, analysis, and planning
• Expert technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot)

Preferred but not required:

• Familiarity and experience with SaaS and Start-up financial metrics
• Knowledge or interest in the digital asset space
• Familiarity with techniques (Python, SQL) to extract, analyze, and drive insight from large data sets
• Proficiency in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) tools such as Cube, including the ability to build and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and reports to support business planning and decision-making processes
• Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Metabase for data analysis, visualization, and presentation to drive insights and support business decisions
