Web3 Commercial Counsel

An independent initiative dedicated to the growth and resilience of the Lido software protocol is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel.

This role offers a unique opportunity to guide commercial strategy, shape key partnerships, and build scalable legal frameworks that support the secure expansion of the Lido ecosystem.

You will play a critical part in enabling the protocol’s success by proactively navigating contractual matters, mitigating risks, and empowering teams to move forward confidently in a dynamic environment.

Key Scope

• Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial contracts, including strategic partnerships, integrations, client services, and vendor arrangements.

• Collaborate closely with contributors across the ecosystem to ensure contractual alignment with the protocol’s broader goals and initiatives.

• Help define and implement efficient legal processes to streamline contract management, negotiation workflows, and risk assessments.

• Provide strategic legal advice to support new opportunities, ecosystem initiatives, and product integrations.

• Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks, balancing commercial opportunity with risk management in a fast-moving environment.

• Support the development of thought leadership initiatives to advance the Lido ecosystem’s legal resilience and innovation.

• Help shape a scalable, decentralized legal strategy for Lido's future growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house, with significant exposure to complex commercial transactions.

• Deep experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts and understanding how legal frameworks intersect with business strategy.

• Strong commercial judgment, with an ability to make practical, risk-based decisions that enable growth while protecting the protocol.

• Proactive mindset with the ability to independently identify issues and propose solutions.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a decentralized, fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal topics into actionable advice for contributors.

• Demonstrated commitment to empowering open-source or decentralized initiatives preferred.
