Web3 Engineering Manager, Wallets & Treasury

Compensation: $72k - $80k estimated

Location: CA San Francisco, California, United States

CoinList is where the world’s best crypto projects build their communities and early adopters can invest in and trade top-tier digital assets. Our mission is to accelerate the advancement of blockchain technology, by finding the best emerging blockchain projects and helping them succeed. CoinList has become the global leader in new token issuance, helping blue chip projects like Solana, Filecoin, Celo, Dapper Labs, and others raise over $800 million and connect them with hundreds of thousands of new token holders. And we now support the full lifecycle of crypto investment, from token sales through token distribution, trading, lending, and crypto-specific services such as staking and access to decentralized-finance opportunities. CoinList users trade and store Bitcoin, Ether, and many other popular crypto assets through CoinList.co, CoinList Pro (our full-service exchange), and mobile apps, while also getting exclusive access to the best new tokens before they list on other exchanges.

Unlike other centralized crypto finance platforms, we're not here to just build a bank or a brokerage. We're building the platform for people who are passionate about moving crypto forward, and we’re just getting started. Come join us and propel the future of crypto!

As an Engineering Manager at CoinList you help lead and grow the Wallets & Treasury team. This team owns critical infrastructure that underpins essentially all CoinList products. You will work closely with engineers and product managers across the company to collect requirements, spearhead projects and features, and prioritize work across a team that you help build and manage. In addition to core infrastructure, which needs to be highly available especially at peak loads, your team will work on some user-facing features such as fiat on/off-ramps and customer wallet management. The work is difficult and ambitious, which is what makes it fun!

Who you are:

  • You know how to manage the balance between technical excellent and business impact. You understand when its time to slow down and sweat the details but you also know when we need to ship a prototype to get feedback, and how to foster buy-in from engineers when riding that balance.
  • You enjoy people management. You’re comfortable leading engineering teams, because you’re still an engineer yourself. You know how to help coach people through conflict, and can build happy, healthy, and effective teams.
  • You’re curious. You want to understand how things work and like to question things, and can synthesize the ideas concisely. You aren’t intimidated by complex problems and enjoy solving them. There will be resources to support you, but you dictate your growth.
  • You ship. You make deadlines for yourself and your team and you move fast. You focus on the things that matter and push back on things that don’t. People know they can count on your team to get things done. Your team is known as an execution machine.
  • You care about the product. You might not be a product expert, but you value good design. You enjoy thinking about why certain products work and discussing new apps. You want to build delightful products that users love and that make people’s lives more meaningful.
  • You have good values. You enjoy hanging out with your teammates, make the workplace more fun for everyone, and care about doing the right thing.

What you will do:

  • Manage and grow a team of Software Engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
  • Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.
  • Work closely with the Product Management team to ensure we're building the best products.

Requirements:

  • Experience in technical leadership, managing software engineering teams, and setting technical direction.
  • Strong track record of technical design and code contributions.

As an early employee at CoinList, you will be a critical part of our core team and have a huge influence over the direction of the company. We will compensate you well, invest deeply in your development, and do everything we can to make sure this is the single best work experience of your life. At CoinList, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity, value our differences, and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
