Head of Engineering (Web3)

Hyper SQ is a play2earn mobile experience with a mission to get people out of their houses to explore the world. The experience today is broken and antiquated. We're redefining how we find and contribute to the places around us.

We're looking for a fearless Web3 Technical Lead / Head of Engineering to join the founding team who will set the technical strategy, lead the end-to-end product development, and hire your team of rockstars to support you. The ideal candidate has full-stack engineering experience with a strong product design mindset passionate about Web3, NFTs, and the future of communities. Practical experience building smart contracts, token development, dApp architecture, and/or DeFi solutions and protocols is a huge plus.

As a well-backed crypto play2earn start-up, this is an excellent opportunity to join at an early stage (greenfield, pre-launch) with a team and advisors from established players in the Web3 space and consumer tech, hungry to disrupt the status quo. As we rapidly expand and grow, you'll be part of the early leadership team setting the long-term vision and values of the company.

The Role

• Set the technical vision, engineering strategy, and product roadmap
• Lead development efforts of building and scaling the MVP end-to-end
• Hire and lead a world-class team of developers and support ongoing talent development
• Define the tech stack, input product ideas, and innovate UX/UI patterns
• Engage in full-stack development as needed, as well as technical tasks and code reviews
• Develop, test, and deploy smart contracts that allow users to mint and interact with NFTs
• Represent the business with investors and other partners

Who You Are

• 4+ years of full-stack development, having built and scaled end-to-end mobile applications
• Strong understanding of product thinking, interaction design and execution
• Knowledgeable and passionate about NFTs, Web3, crypto, and the future of communities
• Strong expertise in Swift, React, JS, AWS and API development
• Familiar with Web3 frameworks and a solid grasp of modern UI libraries (react.js, web3.js)
• Strong sense of product and start-up release cycles
• Security-minded and keeping an eye out for potential threats and vulnerabilities
• High energy and open to radical transparency and debate to search for the best ideas

Bonus Points

• Fluency in Solidity/Rust, building dApps, and blockchain development a significant plus
• Practical experience deploying smart contracts on the mainnets of major blockchains
• Launched tokens previously and a solid understanding of tokenomics and token design
• Worked at a fast-growing start-up, ideally building products from zero-to-one
