If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a Lead Product Manager, Money Movement & Settlements to own Alpaca’s money-movement and settlements product area end-to-end - JIT funding, instant funding, post-trade settlement, prefunding, US and non-US funding rails, and the ancillary products that sit alongside (HY Cash, FPSL). This is a senior product role focused on area ownership and execution, not people management - you’ll own the area roadmap and personally ship across multiple lanes in parallel, partnering with the other PMs in the area to raise the standard of work shipped across the swimlane. This role sits at the intersection of regulated payments, post-trade settlement, and broker-as-a-service partner economics. You’ll unify what is today a set of important but fragmented initiatives - so partners get reliable, predictable money movement, settlement that scales, and clear documentation - while we expand globally across multiple licensed entities and regional payment rails. You’re expected to provide early signal on changing global payments frameworks rather than react after rules formalize. You’ll work across many partner, engineering and operational teams, and you’ll represent the area in product reviews, partner exec syncs, and leadership-level discussions. Success is measured by partner adoption and production usage of money-movement and settlement capabilities - not by ship dates or volume of documentation alone. Things You Get To Do
Own the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the entire money-movement and settlements area - settlements (JIT, instant funding, post-trade, prefunding), funding rails (US and non-US ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, regional rails), and ancillary products (HY Cash, FPSL). Personally execute across multiple in-flight lanes in parallel - not just sequencing them from above, but shipping work yourself on the most strategically important ones. Rationalize how we expose money-movement and settlement APIs and internal systems - including where a single settlement surface must flex for different partner operating models, geographies, and funding flows. Drive build-vs-buy, partner-vs-direct, and onshore-vs-offshore tradeoffs across the area; re-sequence the roadmap under real constraints (regulator deadlines, partner asks, eng capacity). Partner deeply with engineering, broker-dealer operations, treasury, compliance, legal, partnerships, success, and sales to prioritize initiatives that balance regulatory risk, operational load, revenue impact, and time-to-market. Lead discovery with partners and prospects - understand blocking requirements, translate needs into sequenced roadmaps, push back on asks that don’t fit the platform, and communicate honest timelines and scope. Shape pricing and packaging inputs where money-movement and settlement products imply different operational handling - working with commercial and treasury stakeholders so what we sell matches what we can deliver and support at scale. Support global expansion of money-movement capabilities as Alpaca grows its regional broker-dealer footprint - including regional payment rails, FX corridors, and jurisdiction-specific rules (US / non-US). Define and monitor adoption across the area - settlement success rate, time-to-funding, ACH return rate, instant-funding utilization, partner-reported blockers, operational throughput; willing to sunset or rework features that don’t drive adoption rather than calling them done at launch. Raise the standard of work shipped across the money-movement and settlements area - mentor peer PMs, set quality bar, unblock adjacent teams.
Who You Are (Must-Haves) 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or starting a startup, with senior IC ownership in regulated payments, settlement, treasury, or brokerage clearing infrastructure. Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of money-movement or settlement surfaces at production scale - at least two of: ACH / wire / RTP / FedNow rails, post-trade settlement, JIT or instant funding, prefunding, FX corridors, or broker-dealer clearing flows. Direct experience navigating US payments and clearing regulatory frameworks - NACHA ACH operating rules, Federal Reserve oversight, FINRA / SEC clearing and customer-protection rules, OFAC screening, AML / BSA obligations as they touch money movement. Track record of setting and executing an area-level roadmap across multiple in-flight workstreams in parallel - not just shipping a single product. Proven ability to operate as a senior product owner who raises the standard around them - mentors peers, sets quality bar, represents the area in cross-functional and leadership forums without holding a manager title. Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to run partner-facing conversations, regulator-adjacent forums, and internal leadership updates. Experience analyzing data using SQL and a relevant BI tool. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent. You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Bring Excitement about growing your impact through scope and influence across the money-movement and settlements area, rather than through team size. A track record of owning and shipping multiple workstreams in parallel over the last 2-3 years - not just setting vision and facilitating tradeoffs. Hands-on regulated-product experience at the shipping and mechanical-chain layer (e.g. ACH return code handling, settlement reconciliation, exception queues), not just the policy and framework layer. The senior posture to take over an in-flight money-movement and settlements roadmap from day one, without a six-month ramp. Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves) Direct broker-dealer or institutional brokerage experience - Schwab, Fidelity, IBKR, Apex, Drivewealth, or correspondent-clearing equivalents. Experience standing up money-movement or settlement programs from scratch, not just iterating on inherited ones. Familiarity with the B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service model - partners as primary customers, end retail customers downstream. Direct experience with DTCC, NSCC, Fedwire, or other clearing-house settlement flows. Familiarity with global payment rails outside the US - SEPA, FPS, regional ACH equivalents, or stablecoin-rail funding. Experience unifying fragmented money-movement or settlement stacks behind consistent APIs and data models. Background in broker-dealer treasury or clearing operations (reconciliation, exception handling, regulatory reporting) and automation opportunities. AI-native PM workflow - recurring use of tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, or custom agents in PRD drafting, customer-call synthesis, data exploration, and prototyping. How We Take Care of You:
