Chainlink Labs are looking for an exceptional and hungry research engineer to help turbo charge our multi-chain data efforts, leveling-up on-chain insights for the whole Chainlink Labs business. The successful candidate will quickly onboard into the hyper growth business analytics team and partner with data scientists and engineers to advise and build cutting edge blockchain data pipelines for analytics.
Chainlink Labs is a mission and goals oriented organization and this role will play a key part in scaling our insights and increasing the overall level of blockchain knowledge in the company.

Your Impact

• Interpret complex blockchain and smart contract transactions for use in wider analytical tools
• Interpret and code custom DeFi calculations leveraging 3rd party open-source libraries such as Defillama api docs
• Partner with data engineering to structure blockchain data in a homogenous way for multi-chain analytics
• Write short research pieces, infographics on technical blockchain concepts such as different consensus algorithms, DeFi protocol functionality and composability, mempools and MEV.
• Research new chains and write test Chainlink smart contracts to provide blockchain cost estimates
• Spin up and document test nodes to accelerate DevOps multi-chain capabilities

Requirements

• In depth understanding of blockchain consensus mechanisms
• Experience using and interpreting complex multi-hop DeFi transactions
• Experience building PoC ETL pipelines for blockchain analytics
• Deep understanding of the EVM, WASM, smart contract ABIs, internal transactions and account based blockchain structures
• Knowledge of Solidity essential
• Knowledge of Rust hugely advantageous
• Ability to read and write Java/Typescript

This role is location agnostic anywhere in the world, but we ask that you overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
