About Us
DeepCubation is a Web3 venture studio that has incubated and invested in category-defining crypto ventures since 2014, combining first-principles strategy with creative system design to build enduring, tokenized ecosystems. Our portfolio spans Web3 infrastructure, consumer, and fintech projects, built and operated in-house rather than allocated to from the outside.
Our founding team brings together operators and investors from Qilin Investment Management, Cohen Capital Markets, Invesco, and Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia — with a shared thesis that a significant share of the next decade's value creation will happen on-chain, led by household brands and institutions moving into blockchain and tokenization. We're now building out the function that will bring that thesis directly to Silicon Valley's investor community.
The Role
The Head of Capital Formation will lead fundraising efforts for DeepCubation's portfolio companies, representing them directly to the Silicon Valley venture ecosystem. This is a company-side, operator-facing role: you are the one building the investor pipeline, running point on diligence, and negotiating term sheets on our companies' behalf — not advising from the outside, and not allocating capital into a portfolio of your own.
You will work closely with our founding team to translate company strategy and traction into an investor-ready narrative, and carry that narrative through to a closed round.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Leadership
- Own the end-to-end capital raise process for DeepCubation portfolio companies — targeting, outreach, investor meetings, due diligence response, and term sheet negotiation
- Build and prioritize a pipeline of prospective early-stage investors, with an emphasis on Silicon Valley VC funds, family offices, and strategic/corporate investors
- Lead front-end negotiation through to signed term sheets
Investor & Ecosystem Relationships
- Build and maintain a network of warm relationships across the Silicon Valley investor and startup ecosystem
- Represent portfolio companies at relevant investor events, conferences, and founder circles
- Develop introduction pipelines connecting portfolio companies to relevant investors, corporate partners, and strategic accounts
Strategic Positioning
- Partner with leadership to shape fundraising narrative, positioning, and materials for each portfolio company
- Track market intelligence on comparable raises, valuation benchmarks, and investor sentiment to inform round strategy
About the Ideal Candidate
We expect the strongest candidates to come from a corporate venture, strategic investment, or venture partnership background at a major global fund or corporate VC arm — someone who has spent years building investor and CXO relationships in Silicon Valley, sourcing and evaluating deals, and connecting portfolio companies to capital and enterprise partners across a cross-border network (US, Asia, and beyond).
The transition we're looking for is straightforward: someone who has spent their career on the relationship-building and network side of venture — and is now ready to point that same network and skill set at raising capital for a single company, rather than evaluating capital allocation across many.
This background matters because it means the person already has:
- A live, credible network of Silicon Valley investors and corporate partners — not one they need to build from scratch
- Experience translating a company's traction and strategy into an investment thesis a sophisticated investor will act on
- A track record of closing warm introductions into real outcomes (capital, partnerships, or revenue)
Requirements
- Established, active network across the Silicon Valley early-stage venture ecosystem
- Based in or immediately able to relocate to the Bay Area
- Track record of building investor or partner introduction pipelines that convert into closed outcomes
- Comfortable owning a mandate independently, with direct exposure to the founding team
Why Join DeepCubation
You'll join a founding team with direct experience seeding and scaling category-defining crypto ventures (including early involvement in Vechain), running billion-dollar M&A and capital markets processes, and institutionalizing digital assets for traditional finance. This is an opportunity to own a capital formation function from the ground up — building the process, the network, and the track record alongside a team that has already done it once.
To apply, send your resume along with a short note on the most recent Silicon Valley investor relationship or introduction you converted into a closed outcome.
