ABOUT YOU:

Working closely with the Art Director and other Team Leads, you will have an excellent understanding of all aspects of game art, from concept to in-game. Your leadership will complement the team of artists and enable them to bring the vision of our games to life. Having experience of leading a team and an ability to ensure excellent communication and collaboration across all disciplines, you will play a key role in the team structure.

You should have proven VR/XR or similar experience and able to demonstrate the artistic, technical and performance side of VR/XR art.

Although a hybrid role you will work remotely, alongside the rest of the team, with the option of working in our London office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two shipped titles, preferably at least one in VR.
  • 5+ year’s experience in art production, ideally including Maya, Substance, and Adobe Creative Suite tools.
  • 3+ years of Unity experience, including helping to define and implement pipelines into engine.
  • Proven experience leading small teams, including line management and mentoring
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in VR/XR game art
  • A diverse portfolio (or similar) on a number of projects
  • Experience of version control software
  • Pro-active and self-motivated, able to work as part of a small team as well as individually
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of Scrum/Agile processes and ceremonies
  • Experience as a scrum master or product owner
  • Scripting knowledge and experience, especially in regard to pipeline automation
  • Knowledge of Git, Github and pipeline integration and management

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Art Director taking visual and technical direction into the game
  • Lead and mentor the art team
  • To keep documentation, guides, and best practices up to date
  • Take pride and ownership, seeing through the vision and ensuring the highest quality
  • Costing both time and technical specifications working with technical art and code
  • Produce consistently high-quality and high-performing assets across all art disciplines
  • Work closely with code and design to ensure clear communication and delivery
  • Ensure clear communication between art, code, and design, working alongside production
