About the Role
We’re looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our growing team! As the Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing maintenance of the Company’s compliance management system. You will be responsible for conducting HMDA reporting, compliance monitoring and testing, assisting with regulatory examinations, and the maintenance of the Company’s state licensing portfolio. To conduct your daily job functions, you will be collaborating with several business units, including Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, Data, and Product.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct ongoing HMDA reporting on a monthly basis, including HMDA quality control and HMDA LAR preparation
- Analyze the current HMDA policy and procedure and provide feedback and updates on current trends, including ongoing collaboration with Figure’s product and data teams when updates are required
- Conduct monthly random sampling and testing of Figure’s HMDA LAR to ensure accuracy in accordance with Regulation C
- Assist with state regulatory examinations, including preliminary loan file reviews, loan file audit preparation, and gathering of requested documentation for each examination
- Work with business units to establish new reporting guidelines when necessary, depending on the nature of the examination request
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports, including mortgage call reports, as needed to ensure accurate and timely submission prior to deadlines
- Collaborate with data and accounting teams when necessary to facilitate the timely submission of regulatory reports
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Figure’s licensing portfolio, including working with vendors to assist with state, branch and MLO license applications and renewals
- Provide administrative assistance with gathering and organizing requested information or documentation when preparing for the submission or renewal of state licenses
- Assist with monthly compliance monitoring and testing, including call monitoring, complaint reporting and other areas of Figure’s monitoring and testing plan when needed
What We Look For
- Minimum 2 years of regulatory compliance experience at a bank or lending company or 12 months of relevant Figure product experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Thorough knowledge surrounding the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C)
- Familiarity with various types of programs such as Excel, Google Suite, and Tableau
- Ability to effectively communicate regulatory and reporting requirements to other business units, such as accounting, finance and data teams
- History of completing projects with firm deadlines and the ability to organize tasks based on priority
- Ability to handle several projects at once while staying organized, detailed oriented, and diligent
- Experience demonstrating knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as TRID, TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA, FACTA, BSA/AML, UDAAP, GLBA and HMDA/Regulation C is a plus
- Previous experience in regulatory compliance at a bank, mortgage lending company or financial services company is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
