Web3 Data Engineer

Data Engineer (Austin, TX)

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills and be proactive, responsive and very comfortable dealing with ambiguity.  He or she will also bring good experience with data systems/technologies and have a strong track record of deployment, maintenance and optimization of production code.  

Responsibilities: 

• Create robust, high-volume production systems/architectures, and develop prototypes quickly
• Work with development teams to design maintenance and support strategies
• Create optimized workflows using modern data technologies
• Use latest technologies to create scalable and robust infrastructure configurations on AWS & Snowflake
• Create architectural workflows, diagrams and specification documents to help define platform features/functionality.
• Define and build data lake and data warehousing infrastructure from the ground up
• Perform experiments and analyze results to improve the performance and quality of algorithms
• Have a strong role in maintaining data Integrity, security, and governance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field
• Have previously worked in data technologies and deployed in production environment
• Strong experience in building highly scalable, available and responsive systems using open source software tools and technologies
• 5-10 years of professional software development; 3-8 years strong Java development experience.
• Good experience with REST API frameworks; Strong SQL skills
• 3+ years of professional software development experience with some of the latest data technologies such as: Spark, Storm, Map Reduce, Hadoop, Kafka, Cassandra, Graph Tech, Elastic Search
• Proven skill in using technologies such as Kinesis, Postgres with RDS, Lambda/Nuclio, S3, Redshift, etc.
• Experience with cloud delivery platforms and Docker containerization and Kubernetes (preferably EKS) 
• Responsible, organized and hard working with excellent communication skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
• Python or scripting experience in data processing, cleansing, modeling and storage analysis

Nice to have: 

• Some experience with one or more of the following will be an added advantage: statistical analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, predictive modeling
• Knowledge of Blockchain and crypto currency is a big plus
