Web3 Director of Platform Technology

about the Role

• Build and maintain large firmwide blockchain data and service platforms to help protect over $300 billion worth of crypto assets for over 3,200 enterprise clients in areas such as Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
• Articulate challenges, formulate metrics, and lead the roadmap of the platforms.
• Design automation tooling for services, govern the releases, through capacity planning, rollout planning, and release management, define monitoring strategies, SLAs, and error budgets, and advocate incident management standards.
• Create a culture of sufficient/succinct documentation and aggressively prioritize tasks.

Requirements

• MS in Computer Science, Analytical Finance, Mathematics, or a directly related field.
• 5-year progressive experience in a DevOps/SRE role building and running mission-critical platforms. Experience must include: development experience with Python, C++, Java; managing infrastructure as code with configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or Terraform; building DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines with GitLab; containerizing (Docker) and running services in Nomad and Kubernetes; designing and building logging and monitoring platforms in ELK and Prometheus/Grafana; running database platforms including Sybase, PostgresSQL and Snowflake and running messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ & Apache Kafka.
