evolving cryptocurrency landscape.About the Role In this role, as part of a forward-thinking digital asset firm serving over 700 clients, you'll part of our legal team navigating the complex tapestry of global regulations critical to our operations. Join our dynamic legal team in the role of Deputy General Counsel: Markets & Product where you'll be a cornerstone in advising our global Markets team and building and refining our product offerings. With your deep regulatory knowledge and experience with complex financial products, you'll collaborate closely with our Markets and Product teams to navigate the complexities of digital asset prime brokerage. Responsibilities

Partner closely with cross-functional teams on the development of new financial products and services and advise on existing financial products and services to ensure they remain compliant with an evolving regulatory landscape. Manage lawyers responsible for the company’s derivatives products around the world and serve as the senior legal expert at the company regarding derivatives. Serve as the senior lawyer for our global Markets team, advising on all critical regulatory and commercial issues impacting our trading business units. Evaluate and mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle, providing guidance to product and engineering teams on potential implications. Develop policies and procedures to reduce legal exposure, and work in concert with compliance officers to uphold risk management standards.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Admission to a State Bar and good standing 10+ years in legal advisory role 7+ years advising on institutional financial products 7+ years with complex legal transaction negotiations Direct experience in Financial Services or an Institutional FinTech company/product

Necessary Experience

Knowledge of Capital Markets, Derivatives, Equities, Credit Lending, and Prime Brokerages Significant experience providing regulatory advice with respect to the Dodd-Frank Act Record of working well with institutional financial regulators, including the CFTC and SEC Experience providing targeted legal advice to institutional trading businesses Expertise in digital asset transactions Proven record of successfully building or refining product offerings in financial services History of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams in a financial services environment Track record of successfully navigating complex legal and regulatory environments History of effective legal team management in the preparation of contractual documentation

Experience at an existing cryptocurrency, digital asset, blockchain, or web3 organization People management or department leadership

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $276,000 - $374,000 in the New York City and San Francisco Bay Area. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
