Web3 Principle DevOps Lead

In addition to industry-leading security certifications, Copper has one of the strongest insurance coverages in the industry from an A+ rated insurer, positioning the firm as the partner of choice for institutions seeking to safeguard their assets.Department environment The DevOps team is responsible for the management and technical support of the Copper Platform cloud infrastructure and engineering tooling, underpinning the product platforms.   We play a critical role guiding and supporting the engineering functions to deliver critical strategic technology initiatives and programs across the division.  We play a key role in major incident management and empower the business and engineering functions with the data and insights they need to make critical infrastructure decisions.    ROLE PURPOSE:   The DevOps lead will be responsible for partnering with our Heads of Engineering to execute our DevOps strategy and operations, driving efficiency, scalability, and automation across the development and deployment lifecycle. They will play a critical role ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and system reliability.    Key Responsibilities of the role

Lead the DevOps team, providing direct line management, career development, and mentorship, while setting clear, measurable goals for team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. “Lead from the front”, providing technical contributions and participating as a key escalation point in decision making and on-call scenarios Establish best practices in CI/CD, monitoring, and automation in partnership with the Engineering team. Support the development of a comprehensive DevOps roadmap with the Heads of Engineering that is aligned with business goals.  Taking accountability for its implementation. Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. Manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) codebase (Terraform) to provision and manage AWS resources, enforcing best practice   Collaborate with development teams to optimize resource utilization and performance. Enhance existing monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system health and uptime. Respond to and resolve infrastructure related incidents, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Partner with engineering, QA, and product teams to deliver on the engineering strategy. Promote DevOps culture and practices across the organization. 

  Your experience, skills and knowledge Essential  

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or IT Experience in cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure-as-a-service. Knowledge of Agile, Product and project management   Proven experience in DevOps, with a focus on leading teams. Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, GoCD,). Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible). 

Desirable 

Certifications in DevOps or cloud technologies (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator). Experience in managing highly availability systems and disaster recovery strategies. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards. 

  COMPETENCIES 

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences is a MUST. Strong building skills Strong relationship leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.   Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
