Web3 Performance & Security Test Engineer [Contract]

At Disco, we are looking for engineers who want to use their skills and experience to build the future of identity in the metaverse*.* We will enable users to own and control their data and bring their reputation with them across web3 experiences, while maintaining privacy and autonomy.

You will drive the plans that will enable high levels of scalability, security and reliability of our apps, services, libraries and infrastructure. These apps will enable users and companies in the web2 and web3 space to build portable reputation for their users, who will exercise ownership and control of their identities across applications.

You will be able to contribute to the emerging global technology and standards of decentralised identity, storage and privacy.

Who you are

• You have experience evaluating architecture and designing performance test plans.
• You enjoy defining performance test objectives, acceptance criteria, workload profiles and use case scenarios
• You have experience using load and performance testing tools like Jmeter etc.
• You have experience planning, creating and conducting high quality penetration methods, scripts, and tests
• You have experience measuring and analyzing performance data (workload, system and application)
• You enjoy conducting high quality application penetration tests independently, or as part of a team
• You take care to write clear and concise reports with recommendations, including the security issues uncovered and level of risk
• You love collaborating with engineering teams to test load and make recommendations to improve performance, security, reliability and stability

Bonus

• 3+ years experience in a similar role is preferred, but we are open to talented applicants of all levels of experience.
• You have basic understanding of how blockchains and smart contracts work.
• You have experience in various security domains (e.g. web application, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, application security, incident response)
• You have experience with threat modelling, design review, or other threat analysis techniques

We are a lean team excited and passionate about building the user-empowered metaverse. We are devoted identity zealots, and we prioritize autonomy and trust in all aspects of our operations.

We are remote first, and plan time multiple opportunities each year to travel and spend time together. We have no formal vacation policy, but mandate that all teammates take at least two weeks per year away from work. We believe that everyone can do their best work when they are able to take time occasionally to rest and recharge.

At Disco, you will be working on the product & engineering teams while collaborating with design and sales to ensure we are putting our users at the forefront of the product development process.
