Phylax Systems is hiring a
Web3 Rust Engineer

Compensation: $130k - $200k

Location: Remote

About Phylax

Phylax Systems is a tech startup building an open-source security protocol for securing decentralized applications (DApps) on L2 networks by actively censoring hacks on the underlying network.

Our team solves one of the most challenging problems in Web3: Security.

The decision for the Phylax team to work on hack prevention came directly from our own experience with a hack. Having gone through the devastating results of a hack, we knew that we needed to do something about it.

Since the early beginnings of our industry, over $10B have been lost to preventable hacks, while in July 2023, there were over 33 hacks in a single month!

About the Role

We are seeking a Rust Engineer to support the development of the Phylax Node. You will play a critical role in developing and scaling our technology. This position requires strong technical skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. You will be part of the founding team to build and refine the Phylax Node while setting the groundwork for future engineering teams.

The Phylax Node is the core component of Phylax. It’s a system that monitors the chain (any chain) and executes arbitrary computations over the chain’s state. The Node is in private alpha, and it’s your job to bring it to production, open-source it, and then extend it.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for internal and external use.
  • Improve the current version.

About you

  • Strong experience in software development with Rust.
  • Experience in developing high-performance, scalable, and reliable systems.
  • Experience building systems for data processing or other latency-sensitive applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of EVM.
  • Knowledge of MEV.
  • Experience in a startup or as an early engineering hire.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and comparable systems
  • Contributions to open-source projects.

Why join us

  • Be part of the Phylax Founding team.
  • Work on one of the most challenging topics in web3.
  • Be the owner of your project and build it from the ground up.
  • Deeply impactful work for the entire industry.
  • You’ll join a team that appreciates and embraces shitposting.
