Web3 Software Engineer (Testing) - Full-time

About the Team

The Incubation team operates at the forefront of blockchain innovation, with a commitment to pioneering research and development. Under the direct leadership of our founder, Dr. Gavin Wood, the team is responsible for identifying and prototyping new ideas for Polkadot. Currently, the team's primary focus is on advancing PolkaJAM - the next-generation decentralised virtual machine - a protocol combining elements of Polkadot and Ethereum.

About the Position

  • Design and develop comprehensive testing suites to ensure the robustness and reliability of our next-generation decentralised virtual machine.
  • Build and maintain testing environments that simulate various operational conditions, ensuring thorough coverage and accuracy in testing scenarios.
  • Conduct extensive testing on the decentralised virtual machine to validate its performance, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement automated tests using Rust to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve issues, providing feedback and recommendations to enhance overall software quality.

About You

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with a focus on testing.
  • Strong proficiency in Rust, with experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Proven experience in designing and building testing suites and environments for complex software systems.
  • Familiarity with performance testing, security testing, and scalability testing methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work fully autonomously.
