The Role
Join Molecule.xyz for a hands-on, forward-looking summer internship designed for aspiring legal professionals with a keen interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The selected intern will support the General Counsel and collaborate with a legal team deeply involved in the intersection of crypto regulations, intellectual property (IP), and biotechnology. This unique opportunity will expose you to the evolving legal challenges within Web3, tokenization, and decentralized science (DeSci), as you work within an influential network of attorneys and innovators.
Key Responsibilities

Crypto Legal Research & Analysis
Investigate the latest developments in U.S. and international cryptocurrency regulation, including SEC guidance, CFTC policies, and FinCEN/AML requirements.
Analyze regulatory issues related to DeFi, DAOs, token offerings (e.g., SAFTs), NFT-based IP frameworks, and fractionalized ownership models.
Prepare compliance memos on emerging crypto legal risks, token classification, securities law, KYC/AML, and privacy/data protection in blockchain projects.

Document Preparation
Draft, review, and organize web3-related legal documents, such as token sale agreements, tokenized IP licenses, partnership agreements, and DAOs’ governance charters.
Contribute to legal opinions connecting blockchain technology with IP and biotech asset management.

Case and Project Support
Assist the General Counsel with managing matters at the intersection of crypto and bioscience, including tracking disputes, NFT-based IP transfers, and DAO legal operations.
Support the preparation of materials for internal and external meetings with clients, regulators, and counsel.

Collaboration & Exposure
Work side-by-side with leading regulatory experts on high-profile crypto, IP, and biotech projects.
Participate in multi-jurisdictional strategy sessions and learn about cross-border blockchain compliance.

Administrative & Research Support
Schedule, organize, and take notes for crypto-focused legal meetings.
Maintain up-to-date records of relevant crypto regulatory developments and legal trends.

Continuous Industry Learning
Monitor evolving legal guidance, SEC enforcement actions, and major hacks or regulatory settlements in the crypto space.

Attend webinars, panel discussions, or online short courses on tokenomics, DAOs, and digital asset compliance.
Qualifications
Education
Current enrollment in a pre-law undergraduate program, paralegal studies, or a related field. Recent graduates and law students are encouraged to apply.
Skills
Excellent legal research and writing skills, especially regarding digital assets, blockchain, and data privacy.
High attention to confidentiality and detail.
Familiarity with regulatory databases, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and web3 technical resources is preferred.
Demonstrated interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain, DeFi, DAOs, or fintech law.
Attributes
