About the Role
We’re looking for a Director to lead and manage our IT Infrastructure & Security functions. In addition to hands-on technical duties, this role will be responsible for assessing all corporate technology systems to identify and remediate existing gaps within our technical environment. You will partner with internal/external cross-functional teams to determine and prioritize strategies for improving, maintaining, securing, and enhancing our IT Infrastructure. You will continuously evaluate IT policies, processes, and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance standards are met. As a Technical Leader, you will exemplify the importance of transparency, accountability and ownership while encouraging others to do the same.
This is a hybrid position which will require working onsite at our NYC Office 3-4 days per week with the expectation you may need to travel onsite when critical issues arise.

Responsibilities
- Maintain CoinDesk’s IT infrastructure ensuring all IT systems, applications, and platforms are secure and operating efficiently
- Lead the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, documentation and support of high quality, reliable IT systems, networks and end-user support services
- Manage the IT Service Desk and associated MSP vendors, work to ensure all IT issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Conduct ongoing assessments of our corporate technology environment and develop IT project plans against prioritized gaps to be filled. Provide recommendations on enhancing existing infrastructure for optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with cross functional engineering teams to triage incidents and minimize platform downtime.
- Establish and implement platform efficiency and reporting metrics to determine long term viability of existing technologies and continuous monitoring of infrastructure performance
- Incorporate industry security standards into practical security operations, network operations, and application development practices.
- Identify, document and monitor security incidents, technical risks, and vulnerabilities. Work with internal & external teams to implement appropriate controls for future mitigation
- Partner with Security & Compliance teams to develop, edit and maintain policy documentation; cyber and physical security, application vulnerabilities, change management, data protection, incident handling, business continuity & disaster recovery, risk management and incident response.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify processes and controls for management of niche applications and SaaS platforms.
- Partner with Security & Compliance teams on internal/external audit requests and ensure any findings are addressed in a timely manner
- Partner with Security & Compliance teams to build vendor risk assessment and onboarding processes
About You
- 8+ years of IT experience, with previous experience leading & managing teams of Corporate IT & Security professionals within a dynamic start-up environment
- Capable of leading technology change through excellent strategic, technical thought leadership with a strong focus on delivering customer value
- Hands-on experience managing GSuite and underlying user, device, and security services, as well as extensive experience with Okta SSO
- Proficient in general networking principles, including routing, TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN
- Experience managing a hybrid MacOS and Windows corporate environment
- Strong skills and experience in designing and documenting complex processes, and identifying and eliminating deficiencies in existing process designs
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations including: NIST, SOX, PCI, ISO, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
- Ability to promote collaboration and cooperation among organizational entities
- Strong track record of managing people, projects, and processes
- Proven analytical rigor in formulating objectives and measuring results
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, partners, and industry peers
CoinDesk Inc and CoinDesk Indices Inc. are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $145,000 - $190,000 + discretionary annual target bonus + benefits. Offered salary may vary by geographic location, including city and state, and will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
