What is the role?

We are currentlyhiring for anAssociateCounselto work within Digital Currency Group's newest subsidiary. The new subsidiaryremainsin stealth mode, but will be working with the world’s leading crypto, blockchain, and DeFi entrepreneurs and investors.

This is an exciting opportunity to be the second in-house lawyer on a startup team. You will report to our Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in many areas.
  • Negotiate several types of agreements (e.g., NDAs, service agreements and side letters).
  • Stayapprisedon relevant regulatory developments and analyze implications for the firm.
  • Cultivate strongworkingrelationships with internal teams and external business partners (including outside counsel and compliance consultants).
  • Coordinate with other groups in the organization - accounting, valuations, investor relations, compliance,etc- on various matters.

What we expect

Expertiseincorporate law.

  • 3+years of experience working inthe legal profession.
  • Experience in compliance or investment management a plus
  • A JDand active bar membership in good standingis required.

  • Strong drafting skills (e.g., contracts, policies, disclosures) and oral/written communication skills for both legal and non-legal audiences.
  • You are a proven collaborator and communicator; you know how to listen and work well with experts across disciplines.

  • You thrive working in complexenvironmentswith many internal and external stakeholders.
  • You take privacy and security seriously, and always consider them when developing solutions.
