About the Team:

The Compliance function at OKCoin is responsible for the overall compliance culture at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk. Our team consists of seasoned risk and compliance professionals who are based across our global offices.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Function with the Director of Controls as a primary point of contact within Okcoin for issues related to data protection
  • Ensure Okcoin’s policies are in compliance with applicable regulation, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and other codes of practice
  • Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency
  • Devise training plans and provide data protection support
  • Support the Director of Controls as liaison with Data Controllers or Data Processor and Sub-Processors on matters related to data protection
  • Promote a culture of data protection compliance across Okcoin
  • Draft new and amend existing data protection policies and guidelines, and privacy notice(s)
  • Monitor and review controls to confirm compliance with privacy regulations and internal guidelines
  • Monitor and review controls of the maintenance of records of data processing activities carried out by Okcoin
  • Work with the Director of Controls, Information Technology, Customer Service, and other key stakeholders in the handling of subject rights

What We Look For In You:

  • 2+ years experience working in data protection compliance or a related field
  • Expertise in data protection regulation, including the CCPA
  • Bachelor's degree or other higher education qualifications
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks
  • Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience working with teams across offices and timezones.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with the GDPR
  • Good understanding of the core pillars of an effective AML/CTF and Sanctions programs and applicable legislation in the USA
  • You either are already or are eager to become an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape and will understand how speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, blockchain money services businesses and financial institutions operate.
