As a fast-growing team, we are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to oversee the design, development, and deployment of highly available distributed systems, services, and infrastructure for TRM's product offerings. Bringing a wealth of experience to the team, you’ll directly influence the product roadmap with a clear plan for executing mission-critical features that analyze blockchain transaction activity at a massive scale. Recognized as a strategic thought leader across the company, you’ll work closely with our leadership team to champion TRM's product's velocity, quality, and overall impact.

Your responsibilities will include

• Lead an engineering team developing innovative features for TRM's Blockchain Intelligence platform. 
• Architect and design highly scalable, reliable, and data-heavy systems, web applications, and APIs
• Collaborate with stakeholders on transforming your team’s vision into a tangible roadmap with clear outcomes
• Be hands-on as needed across the stack (databases, cache, code, deploy)
• Develop a comprehensive team vision, strategy, and culture
• Mentor and coach teammates, supporting their learning and development
• Collaborate with TRM’s Recruiting team to identify and attract exceptional talent
• Demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders including Data Engineering, Product - Management, Design, Machine Learning, and Data Science

Some of the traits we value

• Strong record of leading backend teams towards the successful execution of technical projects.
• Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and services using SQL datastores.
• Writes high-quality code. We mostly work in Node.js and Typescript. However, languages can be learned: we care much more about your general engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework.
• A high degree of initiative and ownership, combined with the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to change.
• Exceptional ability to structure problems and identify the most critical issues to prioritize.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
• Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with a diverse group of people at all levels in an organization
• Passion for building a safer financial system for billions of people.
• Interest in virtual currencies, applications, and their use in financial networks and blockchain analysis is a plus.
