About Together Computer

• At Together Computer, we are creating an open-source decentralized cloud platform for large foundation models, a general form of AI that will have an outsized impact on industry and society.
• We’ve built one of the largest decentralized clouds for AI research that is currently in use and hosts many open models including Bloom, OPT, T0pp, GPT-J & Stable Diffusion. One focus of our research program is to develop open, unencumbered alternatives to closed AI and develop deeper understanding of how these models perform.
• We are building a decentralized supercomputer by connecting global clouds, mining infrastructure, gaming desktops and laptops, that will be coordinated through a blockchain.
• As part of the Together.xyz team, you will be a core member of the group that designs and delivers this platform and in the process creates equitable access to AI and computing.
• Together is founded by two Stanford AI professors, who run the largest academic lab on foundation models, an ETH professor who runs a decentralized AI lab, and a two-time successful entrepreneur and Apple’s AI/ML executive. Our advisors include several world-renowned experts in AI and decentralization technology.
• We all have deep experience in building big products used by billions of people daily and are backed by top silicon valley investors.

Requirements

• Experience building cryptographic and cryptoeconomic protocols.
• Experience with peer-to-peer network topologies or applications.
• Deep experience with Solidity or another smart contract language.
• Expert level programmer in Go & Python.
• Proficiency programming with open-source libraries and blockchain APIs.
• Experience programming with Solidity or WASM.
• Ability to write, well-tested, critical, production-quality code.
• 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the smart contracts that operate the decentralized Together computer.
• Write specs of modules and milestones for the protocol.
• Develop compute orchestration, market clearing, clustering and other sub-protocols.
• Analyze and implement cryptoeconomic mechanisms.
• Write documentation for the protocol.
