Blockchain ecosystems are rapidly evolving, and we are quickly approaching a truly cross-chain world. Cross-chain value transfer mechanisms must evolve alongside this multi-chain ecosystem. In order to keep pace, web3 development teams need easily integrable toolkits that enable reliable and frictionless web3 user experiences. Biconomy solves this. However, DeFi and much of crypto are at its heart finance, and Biconomy is looking for a finance professional to ensure the financial standards of our cross-chain development toolkit are at the same level as our engineering standards.

About the Role and Team

Biconomy is looking for a DeFi Analyst to manage the existing $16MM in TVL in our cross-chain asset bridge, Hyphen and to help grow the ecosystem to $50MM-$100MM in TVL with new chain integrations and dApp partnerships. Managing Hyphen involves working with the engineering and data teams to assess cross-chain activity trends, design pricing mechanisms that promote the ecosystem, and model liquidity demand across Hyphen pools. Growing Hyphen TVL is accomplished through supporting the business development team in product partnerships, feature development, and estimating ROI tradeoffs of various cost structures.

What will you be doing?

• Analyze cross-chain volume data—either procured by the data team, or through your own efforts.
• Model Hyphen average daily volumes and supplied liquidity to understand utilization rates and APYs—both current and forward-looking.
• Collaborate with the development team and the business development team on new chain launches, BICO token chain migrations, DEX pool deployments, and Hyphen partner integrations.
• Research novel and existing methods to optimize the Hyphen liquidity layer for improved capital efficiency and lower costs of funds. This might involve working with leading DeFi platforms focused on protocol-owned liquidity, or designing bridge pricing mechanisms.
• Research and model liquidity bridge rebalancing mechanisms (i.e., MEV) to ensure key stakeholder interests are accounted for.
• Present Hyphen liquidity utilization targets to the leadership team and justify program costs and tradeoff decisions.
• Interface with the community on Discord, Discourse, and Telegram on Hyphen Fees and LP ROIs.
• Meet with institutional advisors and investors to present ideas and gather feedback.

What’s in it for you?

There is no substitute for experience. You will be designing real-world APY token incentive programs for community members that further the Hyphen liquidity layer. This is as real-world finance as it gets. Most people do not understand—even some crypto teams—the level of finance required to launch successful DeFi programs. You will be at the forefront of cross-chain DeFi working with project teams and builders from all blockchain ecosystems. You will learn how to access and analyze blockchain data from across multiple ecosystems, and how to use this data to inform liquidity and capital efficiency targets. You will have exposure to and work with MEV quants to expand Hyphen’s arbitrage network, as well as market-making entities to build out supplementary liquidity sources. Further, you will have the opportunity to research novel DeFi primitives that can plug into Hyphen and the BICO token ecosystem to lower our cost of liquidity and optimize capital efficiency.

You will be and have:

• Self-motivated
• Independent and takes ownership of project deliverables
• Willing to experiment, fail, and learn from the experience
• Excited by the opportunity to create new processes and frameworks
• Able to flex to product roadmap changes
• Passionate about web3 tenets

Your ideal experience:

• 1-3 years of financial modeling or risk management experience
• CFA or FRM Certification
• Finance or Economics degree
• Strong understanding of statistics
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one other data query language (preferably graphQL).
• Proficiency in at least one open source language
• Some product management experience is a plus
