SALT is hiring a Web3 DevOps Engineer

About the Position
The DevOps & Security Organization at SALT is growing and has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join the team. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development and production of infrastructure and delivering clean and efficient code according to established standards. You’ll get the chance to work on supporting SALT business operations and infrastructure, lead SALT in developing their DevOps systems and practices, and contribute to DevOps Tools and Cloud services roadmaps. This position requires a motivated self-learner who is able to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to define problems, and a strong track record of learning new technologies.
This position will work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
What you’ll be doing:
Support SALT business operations and infrastructure:
- Ensure consistency and uniformity of security and operational standards and processes across business units.
- Provision new systems, maintain existing systems and migrate legacy systems to new infrastructure.
- Maintain maximum reliability and uptime of business-critical services.
- Triage and resolve ad hoc issues and requirements as they arise.
Lead SALT in developing their DevOps systems and practices:
- Work within and contribute to the agile workflow lifecycle including attendance at regular scrum and other planning meetings.
- Support continuous delivery/deployment processes for traditional web and mobile environments.
- Architect and implement stacks in AWS for cost, security, performance, availability and automation.
- Mentor software engineers so they can continue to grow and succeed.
- Advise on architecture and approach.
Advance software to our standards so we can support it:
- Includes monitoring tools, configuration management, availability, data protection, security, and service management.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Document operations run books.
- Serve as an on-call resource.
Contribute to DevOps Tools and Cloud Services roadmaps:
- Investigate, develop, implement, and maintain technologies to provide insight into business and infrastructure performance.
- Provide feedback in service readiness reviews.
- Prioritize new services/features.
What we are looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Operations, and/or Software Engineering
- Strong experience with ephemeral environments in the AWS cloud.
- Experience with Linux, preferably AWS’s AMI (or CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.), in a high-volume production environment.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Minimum of two years of experience with AWS and knowledge of AWS core technology offerings (EC2, VPCs, ELBs, IAM, etc).
- Scripting skills, such as shell (bash), Python.
- Strong understanding of database structure and indexing for databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Configuration management tooling such as CloudFormation, Puppet or Chef.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including mentoring others.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Basic understanding of Bitcoin and Ethereum
- Experience with Crypto Nodes
