Web3 Director or Senior Director, Legal

You will report directly to the General Counsel and serve as a key leader across several legal functions at OpenSea. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player that is passionate about blockchain technology and happiest in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead product counseling, litigation, employment, and other key functions
• Provide nimble, practical advice to product, engineering, and operations teams shipping innovative new features, products, and programs
• Work closely with product, comms, and marketing teams on external facing proactive and reactive communications
• Develop and ship reusable frameworks for complex issues without clear solutions
• Keep abreast of quickly evolving legal and regulatory landscape to forecast and head off potential challenges
  
  

Desired Experience

• 10+ years of legal experience, with meaningful product counseling, regulatory, and litigation experience
• Extensive experience counseling non-lawyer clients in the crypto/blockchain industry or at a fast-paced consumer technology company
• Track record of collaborative partnership with lawyers and non-lawyers (whether up, below, or across) to solve problems and get things done
• Expertise in blockchain, NFT, marketplace, or platform liability issues
• Juris doctor from accredited law school
• Member of a US state bar in good standing

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans across multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $270,000 - $330,000 plus benefits & equity.
