About Us

Colosseum administers the Solana Foundation’s official hackathons, which are the largest online hackathons in the industry, and historically are where 80%+ of venture backed startups in the Solana eco started. We also run an online accelerator program for top teams coming out of the hackathon, and invest at the earliest stages.

We treat the hackathon and the accelerator as products and have dedicated significant time and resources towards a custom-built online platform to support them.

This platform is a conceptual hybrid of tools that tech-forward VCs like YCombinator have already pioneered (with their cofounder matching site, and the internal Bookface platform), and entirely new avenues aimed at company and capital formation in crypto.

About the Role

Colosseum is looking to hire an experienced full-stack software engineer, with around 3+ years of experience shipping user-facing products in a startup or high-growth environment. This is a contract role to start, but we are very open to that shifting into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Key Details

We’re looking for somebody who is excited about the space Colosseum is building in (the intersection of crypto, especially Solana, and company formation), even if you have not worked in this space before, and who enjoys the 0 to 1 stage of product development.

Our current tech stack is Svelte/kit (and Tailwind) on the frontend, with Node/Express on the backend and Postgres + Redis for data storage. Please only apply if you’d be comfortable making quick impact building with these tools, with an emphasis on the frontend side.

We’re a very small team, and are looking for an engineer who can build features independently and has a solid baseline understanding of modern web development. Bonus points if you are skilled in (or at least excited by!) UX / product design, or know your way around basic UI design tools. Above all, we’re looking for somebody who puts care into the details of their work.

The team is distributed across US time zones, so we ask that you are available in that range as well. We are merit and results-oriented, not meetings-oriented, and will absolutely reward high-quality contributions.
