Web3 Game Designer

Are you obsessed with the intricacies of game mechanics? Do you have the analytical mind of a Vulcan but the spirit and ingenuity of a Halfling Master Thief planning their next heist?

Let’s dig deep into the details of user-centered design, because Splinterlands is looking for Game Designers to produce engaging levels of gameplay mechanics that achieve a fulfilling flow state, addictive game loops, and a risk/reward balance that supports our layered, blockchain-based economies.

You will be responsible for building and improving systems of gameplay for a variety of features, updates, and products. This will include the logic and granular details for new game modes, abilities, and forms of player progression within a growing Play To Earn ecosystem. You will be collaborating with the Creative Director, Product Managers, UX Designers, UI Designers, Artists, Animators, and Developers to produce a gaming experience that compels our players to keep coming back for more!

You should have extensive knowledge of game design and creating robust systems of gameplay that are based on behavioral analysis and proven methodologies. You should also have a proficient understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and NFT economics and how they factor into the structure of a Play To Earn game.

Things You’ll Do:

• Create supporting documentation that details the triggers, interactions, and subsequent events of specific features or aspects of gameplay
• Work hand-in-hand with UX Designers to optimize the player journey
• Produce both high level concepts and fine-tuned designs for review
• Research and Data Collection
• Update mechanics based on testing and data capture

Things You Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Game Design or related field or comparable work experience
• At least 2 years of professional Game Design experience
• Expert verbal and technical writing communication skills
• High level of Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills

• Proficiency with Adobe software
• Proficiency with scripting languages
