The IT and Security Operations Manager is a critical role that bridges the gap between cutting-edge IT infrastructure management and robust security practices. This role is designed for a versatile leader who is equally adept at managing our operational tooling—including GSuite, Slack, Notion, and more—while raising the security bar by implementing improved access controls through platforms like Okta. Your mission will be to safeguard our infrastructure, digital assets, and data while ensuring seamless operational efficiency across all IT and security domains. Collaboration with engineering teams for devops support and general on-call responsibilities will also be a key aspect of this position, making it ideal for someone who is not only a skilled IT administrator but also deeply knowledgeable in security and compliance, especially as they relate to AWS, Terraform, GitHub, and blockchain technology.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in information security, IT security, or a closely related field, with a proven track record of managing IT infrastructure and security in a dynamic environment.
• Strong foundational knowledge in security protocols, IT & network security, endpoint security, and cloud security best practices.
• Knowledgeable in blockchain technology and how it relates to security practices is desirable.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001/27002, NIST) and regulatory standards.
• Professional certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, etc.) are highly regarded.

Responsibilities:

• Security Strategy and Leadership:
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking security strategies that anticipate and mitigate future security challenges.
  • Lead the deployment of cutting-edge security technologies, including cloud security and zero trust architecture, to enhance our security posture.
  • Manage outsourced IT resources effectively to bolster our security and IT operational capabilities.

• Risk Assessment and Operational Management:
  • Conduct thorough security and IT assessments to identify vulnerabilities, utilizing insights to streamline our vendor and account management systems.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, employing the latest tools and techniques to protect our systems and data.
• Incident Response and Management:
  • Take charge of security and IT incident response planning, ensuring rapid and effective mitigation of security breaches or threats.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
• Compliance, Training, and Culture:
  • Ensure the company meets all relevant security standards, regulatory requirements, and legislation while fostering a culture of security and operational excellence.
  • Promote security awareness and IT best practices throughout the organization by organizing and conducting training sessions for all staff.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and other departments to embed security and IT best practices into the development lifecycle and daily operations.
  • Regularly update leadership on IT and security developments, challenges, and achievements, driving informed decision-making at all levels.
