Lead Blockchain Engineer

Compensation: $90k - $100k estimated

Location: England London United Kingdom

ZILO is a mission critical supplier for some of the world's largest financial institutions. As our Lead Blockchain Engineer at ZILO, you will drive the development of our tokenisation platform, digital transfer agency, and financial network for global custodians and asset and wealth managers. Much of your focus will be helping our customers move traditional fund structures onchain through tokenisation, removing friction between onchain and offchain process, and supporting the democratisation of investing by increasing liquidity, transparency, and accessibility for investors.

Key responsibilities

  • Technical leadership. Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and user-friendly blockchain applications. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Blockchain development. Develop and maintain private financial networks using Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu, Solidity smart contracts, and other Web3 technologies.
  • Tokenisation. Develop impactful smart contracts for financial products, compliance, and investors.
  • Hyperledger Firefly. Use Hyperledger Firefly to connect and manage transactions across different blockchain networks and offchain systems ensuring efficient data flow and scalability.
  • Collaboration and communication. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives. Communicate technical strategies and trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Code quality and security. Ensure high standards of code quality, security, and compliance. Implement robust testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to maintain reliability and efficiency.
  • Innovation and research. Stay updated with the latest advancements in blockchain and Web3 technologies. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and frameworks to enhance our network, products, and services.

Key technical experience for this role

  • 5+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience working in a collaborative product-driven environment.
  • 2+ years of smart contract development experienceincluding deploying smart contracts to Ethereum mainnet or EVM private network.
  • Deep understanding of Solidity.
  • Experience building dApps.
  • Experience deploying smart contracts to Ethereum mainnet or EVM private network.

Key domain experience for this role

  • Understanding of asset tokenisation and its applications in asset and wealth management.
  • Strong interest in Web3 technologies, including CeFi and DeFi.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in languages commonly used in Web3 technology stacks including Solidity, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Thorough understanding of blockchain concepts including DLT, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic functions.
  • Ability to design, develop, and test secure smart contracts.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms like hashing, digital signatures, and public-key encryption.
