We are currently hiring a Staff level Software Engineer focused on building and maintaining XMTP.

What You’ll Be Working On:

• Design and manage XMTP’s forthcoming high throughput rollup and decentralized node network.

• Write and deploy XMTP smart contracts on the rollup.

• Index data from the rollup and store chain history in our nodes.

• Ensure strong consistency between onchain and offchain data.

• Design resiliency against re-orgs in lower chains by republishing any lost transactions.

Your Experience:

• Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, staff level.

• Extensive experience operating and maintaining an EVM compatible chain in production (L1, L2, L3).

  • Have deployed and ran a chain in production, including involvement in choosing the parameters of the chain and monitoring uptime in a live system.

• Experience working close to the execution or consensus layers of a blockchain.

  • Have committed code to a L1/L2/L3 blockchain.

• Proficiency in Solidity, with experience in shipping Solidity smart contracts to production.

  • Expert-level Solidity developer with contracts that have undergone security audits.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience working in open source and communicating with the public.

• Messaging experience.
