Web3 Senior DeFi Engineer / Engineering Lead (Rust + Solidity)

We are preparing to expand into the Stellar blockchain and are seeking an outstanding Rust engineer to join our core team and spearhead this initiative..

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, senior software engineer who will rewrite our established EVM-based lending platform using Rust for Stellar Soroban. 

You must have strong Solidity knowledge to understand the structure and logic of our EVM contracts, and excellent Rust skills to reimplement these systems securely and efficiently on Soroban. 

This role is a critical technical position: you will write production-grade smart contracts, influence architecture decisions, and work closely with a highly experienced DeFi team.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and deploy Rust-based smart contracts on Stellar Soroban. 

● Manager/supervise a team of rust engineers. 

● Analyze and port Solidity contracts to Rust, preserving functionality while optimizing for Soroban’s execution environment. 

● Architect and build cross-chain components that interact with EVM-based protocols. 

● Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and ecosystem partners to deliver robust and secure DeFi 

infrastructure. 

● Contribute to best practices in smart contract security, testing, and audit-readiness. 

● Write clear, well-documented, and efficient code.

● Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and long-term protocol design.

Requirements

4+ years of professional Rust development experience, ideally with smart contract work. 

● 1+ years of Solidity experience. 

(Candidates who started their career in Solidity before specializing in Rust are strongly preferred.) 

● Strong understanding of DeFi concepts, particularly lending protocols, collateralization mechanics. 

● Hands-on experience with Stellar Soroban or similar WebAssembly-based smart contract platforms. 

● Familiarity with EVM tooling (e.g., Hardhat, Foundry) and general smart contract development practices. 

● Commitment to code quality, thorough testing, and security-first development. 

● Comfortable working in a globally distributed, async-first environment.

Bonus Points 

● Previous experience building or contributing to production DeFi protocols. 

● Contributions to Stellar Soroban projects or tooling. 

● Experience with formal verification, static analysis, or security auditing. 

● Knowledge of cross-chain bridges, token standards (ERC-20, SEP-20), or interoperability frameworks.
