Web3 Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Knox Networks is an open source software platform that supports white label programmable money and digital identity solutions for financial institutions.

The Knox software platform can be used for issuing, authorizing, verifying, executing, transacting, distributing and reporting programmable money between financial institutions and/or consumers as non-account based financial instruments including, but not limited to: digital cash, treasury securities, repurchase agreements, central bank digital currencies and any other cash analogue. Our technology focuses on balancing privacy, scalability and interoperability with various financial standards and payment networks.

Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will help software engineering teams build, test and release software faster, more reliably and securely. You will scale DevOps capabilities and practices across multiple software engineering teams, and accelerate adoption of emerging DevOps technologies and practices in the organization.

The position is based in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA (also open to 100% remote) with full-time salary and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Work closely with development, architecture, cloud and other infrastructure experts to create DevOps capabilities (Version Control, CI/CD, Automation, Experimentation, Lean, Observability, etc.)
  2. Develop CI/CD templates (pipeline as code) that enable self-service CI/CD (Jenkins/Concourse) and build required quality gates for CI/CD (code scans, linting, container scanning, etc.)
  3. Work to select, adopt and manage diverse technologies for use in the app stack, enabling efficient repeatable adoption by building standard reusable templates and patterns of adoption.
  4. Design, build and support deployment orchestration to support scalable, multi region highly resilient services 24x7 through modular, reusable automation templates and techniques such as feature gating, blue-green.
  5. Design, build, deploy and support comprehensive observability through the stack.
  6. Design, build and support release and deployment mechanisms of cloud native apps in external, hybrid-cloud environments
  7. Keep abreast of technology and best-practice in the DevOps space and adopt those in the org.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Experience building devops automation using CICD toolchains e.g. Jenkins, Concourse, GitHub, Artifactory, SonarQube, container registries
  2. Experience with infrastructure deployment, config management, secret management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Cloudformation, Packer, Hashicorp vault
  3. Strong Competency with Kubernetes ecosystem - Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Ingress, Storage
  4. Strong competency building automation solutions with Python, bash, make
  5. Competency in AWS foundational technology (Compute, storage, DB, Network, event handling
  6. Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Cloudwatch, Datadog etc
  7. Dedication to delivering quality & reliability through automated testing, deployment automation, and building secure systems.
  8. Understanding of AWS well architected framework is a plus
  9. App Dev experience including web applications, APIs, Microservices and testing is a plus

Requirements

  1. BS or MS degree in Computer Science, EE or related technical field
  2. 5+ years’ track record in building DevOps or SRE capabilities in highly automated CICD driven environment for modern cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud native (Kubernetes) apps with microservices, APIs and mobile clients
  3. Passion for scaling devops through technical solutions as well as building great processes
  4. Collaborative, problem solving mindset, able to work with technology & business partners
  5. Self driven with the ability to set meaningful goals and work independently as well as collaborate with others in a matrix, Agile environment to achieve org goals
  6. Strong communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to present complex topics to diverse audiences, and drive discussions. You can give and receive feedback, and you do not shy away from planning meetings and code reviews
  7. Learning Agility. You are able to explore and assess new technology and quickly make productive use of it.
