SO YOU WANT TO JOIN CANDY?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel that has a commercially minded mentality, and a proactive lawyer to partner with our teams. In this role, you will support inbound and outbound transactions supporting our business functions acting as dedicated counsel to internal technology products, other data-products and services, strategic partnerships (Non-M&A), customer & IP matters, and other new technology offerings.

AS OUR MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, YOU WILL...
- Draft, review, and support negotiation of various types of complex agreements, including technology license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, software-as-services agreements, and vendor agreements related to Candy’s research, development, e-commerce, and new businesses
- Provide general corporate support for Candy
- Advise and support marketing compliance, sales initiatives, and customer service operations for Candy’s online store
- Provide legal advice, guidance, and contract negotiation for technology-focused operations at Candy with a specific focus on technology and Web3 laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, TCPA, Shine the Light, facial recognition bans, export control laws)
- Support with outside counsel technology-related M&A transactions
- Draft and negotiate a variety of legal agreements involving complex partnerships, technology transactions, and IP-related legal issues.
- Prioritize workload to set goals and meet deadlines in a fluctuating and sometimes ambiguous business environment.
- Collaborate with legal team members to improve processes and ensure business demands are satisfied.
- Manage and/or support pre-litigation and litigation disputes and any government administrative investigations involving supported business groups
- Stay abreast of key trends and best practices
- Work in a high-volume/fast-paced environment.
- Cross-functionally works across different departments.
- Create strategies and communicate them in thorough presentations effectively
WHO ARE YOU?
- JD degree, plus at least 5-9 years’ relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of US technology laws with a passion for Web3 (e.g., CAN-SPAM, TCPA, Shine the Light, facial recognition bans)
- Experience negotiating contracts rights in a matrixed organization, where multiple stakeholders have an interest in a particular contract
- Experience negotiating IP rights
- A creative focus on how to achieve the business' goals while minimizing legal risk
- Strong project management skills and ability to corral stakeholders from across a global organization on cross-functional projects
- Working knowledge of US privacy law is a plus
- Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines
- You ease at presenting your work and explaining design decisions.
