Web3 Sr. Performance Engineer - Remote - NOT C2C

JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position - No agencies / NOT C2C (See notes below)

LOCATION: Remote - Open to US/CANADA/LATAM Only

HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $100 - $120 USD / HR

ESTIMATED DURATION: Full-time remote contractor position (40 hours/week) - Long Term.

About this opportunity

Our client is looking for a Sr.Performance Engineer who will be responsible for existing performance tests support, implementation improvements and new enhancements introduction to the project.

Our client current performance solution covers HTTP/HTTPS methods by Jmeter, so knowledge REST API, microservices architecture, Jmeter is mandatory.

Successful candidate will also be involved in CI process, improvements, production releases support.

In this role, you will…

• Develop/run performance scenarios for REST API/Monolith using Jmeter
• Support existing performance scenarios and infrastructure
• Analyze performance results, creating performance reports
• Take part in improvement and automation for CI/CD process
• Create bug reports according to performance tests execution results, track fixes for these defects
• Participate in project releases delivery to production (on demand)
• Participate in code review
• Be a mentor for junior and middle level Performance engineers

Requirements

Essential:

• At least 5 years of experience in performance testing of REST/WEB applications
• At least 3 years of Jmeter/Loadrunner/gatling(or other) tools experience
• Strong knowledge of Microservice Architecture and design patterns
• Proven experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Git, Bamboo
• Have deep understanding in testing types and processes.
• Evaluate engineering functional specification and other project documentation, compose and execute test cases to fully verify the correctness of functionality, and work closely with other SDETs and functional sqa engineer.
• Develop scripts for functionally testing web applications. Create and execute detailed functional tests in BDD format (when appropriate)
• Have good communication skills and have a desire to help colleagues to improve their skills in performance area
• Experience in Postgres/MySql
• Experience in REST
• Experience in Unix systems and Docker

Desirable (Plus):

• At least 1 year of any programming language experience(python/java/etc)
• Experience testing Kafka events is a plus
• Experience testing Redis caches is a plus
• Experience working on Agile teams, using Scrum methodologies
• Experience with NewRelic, Splunk, AWS, Heroku, Docker.
